Is there a season 3 of College Romance?

| Calcutta | Published 19.09.22, 01:52 PM ‘Those were the best days of my life’ aptly describes TVF’s College Romance ‘s central theme. Those who’ve followed the first two seasons of College Romance on SonyLIV know that the popular web series is about life on the college campus, revolving around a group of friends going through their daily ups and downs in friendship, relationships and beyond.

  1. College Romance Season 1 set the tone and context for the franchise.
  2. With characters escalating from friendship to dating, from hooking up to intimacy, the first season was not only funny, relatable and punctuated with punchlines, it’s also wholesome in all aspects.
  3. Season 2 focused on handling breakups, complexities of long-distance friendship and the importance of counselling as many youngsters don’t open up easily.

Here are the highlights of the five-episode Season 3 of College Romance Season 3, streaming on SonyLIV. Strong performances by the young cast The show rides on strong performances, especially the lead pair of Gagan Arora (Bagga) and Apoorva Arora (Naira).

Gagan, who you might have seen in Tabbar and The Fame Game, has the best lines and scenes. Bagga and Naira’s chemistry lights up the tedious moments and forms the base for the duo’s heart-tugging scenes while building up the cliffhanger at the end. Keshav Sadhna does his best to play the loyal, happy-go-lucky friend Karan.

Shreya Mehta as Deepika is the stereotypical bold girl (and you might imagine a contest between Maheep Kapoor from Fabulous lives of Bollywood Wives and Deepika on the number of times they can utter the word ‘f**k’). Among the new characters, Jahnvi Rawat as Raavie is impressive.

  • Her fashion game is strong too.
  • Nupur Nagpal as the naive Dhatrapriya looks believable, while Eklavey Kashyap as Harry adds more colour.
  • Relatable themes College Romance Season 3 highlights how former couple Karan and Deepika can move on and remain good friends.
  • A lot of issues — from finding a housemate to share the load of the rented apartment to the downside of a long-distance relationship — get covered.

Then, there are predictable miscommunications among friends that lead to silly squabbles. College Romance Season 3 normalises a junior boy dating a senior girl in college, just like a senior boy flirts with a female fresher. A chunk of the show focuses on how students struggle to come out to their families and friends about their sexual orientation, fearing judgment.

It also deals with the struggle of coming to terms with one’s own self and the confusion around it. It throws light on how some youngsters get worked up with the idea of physical intimacy as a result of peer pressure. College Romance Season 3 is laced with cautionary tales on relevant issues, like how one’s drink can be spiked when one’s not watching at a club or a social gathering.

The downsides Season 3 starts off on an endearing note on how Bagga and Naira struggle to keep the spark alive in a long-distance relationship. The desperate duo go to the extent of booking a call-at-home massage session for a ‘happy ending’! Cut to Naira leaving her college in the US and returning to India because she is homesick.

Is Trippy College Romance season 3?

STORY: This third season of the teen drama series ‘College Romance,’ like its predecessors, dives into the difficulties that college students face when it comes to sustaining their relationships and friendships. REVIEW: ‘ College Romance season 3’ yet again returns to the campus setting where students—who never seem to study or attend a class—are now in their third year.

  1. As they approach graduation, they are dealing with some grown-up issues, but with the same sense of humour, madness, and drama.
  2. The backdrop is once again Delhi-NCR, and the characters are upbeat and entertaining to watch.
  3. After previous seasons released in 2018 and 2020 respetively, there is no turning back for the franchise.

With every season, things only get better and better with each of the characters beginning to flesh out well and situations becoming funnier and more interesting. The team—director Parijat Joshi and his writers (Ashutosh Chaturvedi and Pankaj Mavchi)—is new, but the story progresses with the same zeal and spark that one doesn’t notice the difference in treatment.

The plot includes all the elements of a full-fledged drama, romance, and action, as well as one-liners and LOL (laugh-out-loud) moments. The characters reprise their roles; however, their acts have become repetitive. This season picks up from where the previous one had left off, Naira (Apoorva Arora) and Bagga (Gagan Arora) are struggling with their long-distance relationship since she moved to the US for studies, Karan (Keshav Sadhna) and his college junior Dhatrpriya aka DP (Nupur Nagpal) are exploring their love for each other, and Deepika (Shreya Mehta) is still unsure what she wants following her breakups, but she maintains the same bitchy demeanor wherever she goes.

The tone of the story remains essentially consistent, but we miss the show’s heart, Trippy (played by Manjot Singh), who is not part of this installment. On-screen, Gagan Arora and Apoorva Arora make a lovely couple grappling with hardships in their long-distance romance.

  1. Eshav Sadhna and Nupur Nagpal are another pair where the latter is extremely innocent, and their relationship never goes beyond the point.
  2. Shreya Mehta is still a raging volcano, but we’ve finally figured out what’s actually wrong with her and why she’s so unhappy with every boy.
  3. As juniors, Eklavey Kashyap as Harry and Jahnvi Rawat as Raavie are fresh additions to the original cast.

Both have played their parts well. The performances are consistently refined, restrained, and understated, making the series enjoyable without going over the top. This TVF creation has everything to keep you interested in the struggles of these young adults, from bro-code to clashes between senior and junior college students.

How many episodes in College Romance s2?

This college drama scores low – With just five episodes set in a college, revolving around one group of friends and their antics, the show doesn’t offer much. It’s pretty similar to the first season and the comedic moments are few and far between. With time, you can easily predict what’s going to happen next and there are things that the characters do that seem out of place.

  1. For instance, Naira fighting with Bagga for forgetting Valentine’s Day is at odds with her personality.
  2. Save for Apoorva Arora and Gagan Arora, the performances are forgettable.
  3. WATCH OR NOT The second season is really just more of the first.
  4. Watch it only if you’re really curious about Karan, Trippy, Naira, Deepika and Bagga.
